We are Lucas, Klarisa, Malachi, and Lillyan.  Lucas and I got married in 2012 and started our family in 2013 when we had Malachi.  We then got pregnant with Lillyan in 2015.  I was so excited and was really  hoping that we would get the girl I had always wanted that would complete our perfect little family.  I will never forget the day I went in for my level two ultrasound.  I didn't make Lucas go with me since I knew it was just another appointment there was no way anything could be wrong.  I quickly realized that something was wrong when the ultrasound person would barely even look at me and was not talking to me at all.  I called Lucas crying to tell him about the cystic hygroma  and that we would both need to go back next week for more genetic testing.  We went back and had all the blood work done and 2 days later I received the call with the results.  Not only did I find out the baby I was carrying was the little girl I always wanted, but they also told me she would also have down syndrome.  I felt like the whole world came to a screeching halt.  I remember I was so mad and couldn't figure out why it was happening to me.  I was young and healthy there was no way I could be having a child with down syndrome.  Fast-forward to now and I am so excited to call her mine.  Lillyan is absolutely amazing!  She has brought so much joy to our family and has changed me and my outlook on life tremendously.  She spreads love and happiness to everyone she meets!
